It's not very often I find myself on the 118, but there I was actually cruising the Ronald Reagan Freeway at the butt crack of dawn on a Saturday morning. Well, it was 8 am, so probably more like the frenulum of dawn rather than the butt-crack, but you get the idea.

So what would possess me to voluntarily be up before noon on a Saturday, driving deep, deep in the valley? Those two magic words that bring tears to the eyes of any compulsive shopper:

"at cost"

Well, 10% above cost to be exact, but thanks to Seth's mom, who knows a manager at Best Buy in Chatsworth, I was invited to go with them to the store's "Friends and Family" discount day. Now, this wasn't your typical Friends and Family-please don't forward this coupon to 1,000 of your closest friends *wink* *wink* sale. Evidentally, you actually did have to know someone, and they had to put your name on their list. But true to the claim, everything in the store was for sale at 10% above their cost. I was pretty stoked.

Since little things such as cables are marked up about, oh, 1,000%, I loaded up on ethernet cables. Then I got those Sony in ear buds I've been wanting, and these Philips noise-cancelling headphones, and got a sweet new printer (HP 2510). I did, however, manage to talk myself down from the new video card, whereupon my credit card breathed a sigh of relief.

Who needs a boyfriend when you have guilt-free shopping?

Frightening thought... but lately I've found myself thinking that having a boyfriend again might not be such a horrible thing.

Now, if only you could order one from Pink Dot. I'd like mine with the extended warranty replacement guarantee, please.
