"In every country and in every age, the priest has been hostile to liberty. He is always in alliance with the despot, abetting his abuses in return for protection to his own." -Thomas Jefferson

It's not enough that the Catholic Church denies anyone who has had an abortion to receive communion. Now, if you even support the right of a woman to choose, you cannot receive it. Their publicity stunt is as transparrent as it is repellent. I told myself I wasn't going to waste any more time on religion, but then I saw this. Now, the Catholic Church is getting more involved with politics (again). Hasn't history taught us what a mistake that is? What next? Bring back the Inquisition? Perhaps a good Holy War? How many more people will have their rights trampled or be killed in the name of God?

The pope's a fucking bobble-headed retard.

Vatican Clamps Down on Abuses in Mass

VATICAN CITY - A top Vatican (news - web sites) cardinal said Friday that priests must deny communion to Catholic politicians who support abortion rights, but stopped short of saying whether it was right for John Kerry (news - web sites) to receive communion.

Bishop Raymond Burke, the archbishop of St. Louis, has said he would refuse to give Kerry communion; Kerry's own archbishop, Sean O'Malley of Boston, has endorsed that principle without naming the senator. Full text
"The clergy converted the simple teachings of Jesus into an engine for enslaving mankind and adulterated by artificial constructions into a contrivance to filch wealth and power to themselves...these clergy, in fact, constitute the real Anti-Christ." -Thomas Jefferson

...and lastly, one more from James Madison:
"What influence in fact have Christian ecclesiastical establishments had on civil society? In many instances they have been upholding the thrones of political tyranny. In no instance have they been seen as the guardians of the liberties of the people. Rulers who wished to subvert the public liberty have found in the clergy convenient auxiliaries. A just government, instituted to secure and perpetuate liberty, does not need the clergy."

Cher, save us!

I've thought much about the idea that every sperm is sacred, and the lives I so callously flush down the toilet on a daily basis. I know masturbating is a sin, but just because I cannot stop doesn't mean my sperm should have to suffer.

After much soul searching, I will be placing my future homeless little swimmers up for adoption. You'll need to bring your own receptacle.
