Hazy Shade of Rover

Everything in my office is a brownish/orangish color from the Sun cutting through the smog from the fires—a nice reminder that with every breath I'm probably taking a few minutes off my life as I inhale the remains of some Malibu socialite's lapdog.

The orange ones really fuck you up.

eh... When isn't Malibu on fire? People build homes in burn areas and then get butt hurt when they burn. If you're just coming to L.A., unless you were planning to visit the Angeles Forest, or drive up into the canyons, or up the coast on PCH, you should be okay (although, we'll probably have smog alerts through the week, so you might not wanna lay out at the beach).

Anyway, Santa Anas are supposed to be gone by Wednesday, so you should start to see quickly if they're able to get it under control or not. Then the winds should blow the dirty air away after a couple days.

I just wouldn't visit San Diego right now though unless u were going to help. All of North County is fucked and hundreds of thousands of people evac'ed into the city. It's gotta be more than a little nuts and tough to be there. They're asking people to stay off the freeways and minimize cell phone usage for emergency workers.

Yeah, I've called friends in SD and you get the "all circuits are busy" jive recording. It's scary. I hope the fuck I can get back to HIllcrest this weekend- my area isn't even on fire but the road are fucked up getting in and out. :(

I heard on NPR earlier that the San Diego Fwy south-bound has reopened but that you can't get back to L.A. as north-bound lanes were closed.
