JetBlue now has a "children's play area" near the gate. Why are they encouraging these things?

These play areas have been cropping up at malls lately too. Malls and airports are NO place for children. Those things are supposed to be kept at home with the nanny or stored in the trunk of your car.

Well, maybe in the trunk during the winter time. Summer time is a no-no... that's when you tie them to trees outside.

I saw these atrocities and immediately made sure I had ear plugs. Children should be drugged (heavily) before boarding planes (and some of the parents too.

Children in public aren't too bad if they are outfitted with speaker-defeat headphone jacks. Then only the mom can hear then bawl. Oh yeah, can't forget the short leash!

I used to go to this movie theater near Santa Cruz that had this great old-time innovation: a crying room. It was a room next to the projection booth that had a few sofas in it and a big glass window to watch the movie through. Mothers could bring their babies with them and they wouldn't annoy the audience at large. And when no mothers with babies were using the room, it was a great place to get it on with your date.

I'm constantly walking into kids because I refuse to look down in acknowledgement that anything that short deserves my attention or consideration.

On the other hand, infants have this tendency to rest their heads on my chest and fall asleep in a way that would make my uterus kick if I had one.
